Reaching out for support
Student Wellness Services is deeply saddened by the tragedy in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 1, 2017. We recognize that this could be a very difficult time for students who are from that area or know others who have been affected. We want you to know that we are here to provide a safe and confidential environment to process your reactions to this, and any other concerns. The recent hurricanes and earthquakes have also left many students concerned about loved ones, and the combination of all of these stressors can activate feelings about past losses or trauma.
To schedule an appointment at Counseling Services, please call 626-395-8331; after hours, you will have the option to press "2" to be connected to a clinician. If you need to be seen urgently, please let the receptionist know that you'd like a same-day appointment. The deans, CCD, ISP, and other student affairs offices are also available to help.
We encourage you to reach out for support as well as extend support to others. It is important for us to stay connected and do what we can to take care of one another. For additional resources, please see this article by The American Psychological Association.
